From our first faithful meeting on the TCOOO Blog ; Massicka has been Forthright, Honest and a genuine delight to share an exchange with.  This week we go to the Youth Man Posse' to tell us how they feel about "This Generation and Reggae Music".

Several pods ago we ran two episodes with Bob Andy. When DJ Mass heard the interviews he wrote me and immediately requested equal time for a rebuttal.  This is that Rebuttal, also in two parts.  this is part one; with part deux coming during January 2008.

Dj Mass says that Confusion about the youth and young musicians; has led to the splintering of the dancehall. Mass Reveals how Bob Andy turned down royalties for use of his sample in the Massicker Hit "Ackee in my Salt Fish". This tune will be released in spring 2008; on a "Going Home Riddim" compilation - by MusicalAmbassador Label (MAMG).

Mass tells us what he's working on; and what he predicts will buss the scene, fresh in 08' .

When asked his opinion on the Beenie Man; Movado Star Complex he really shows us his strength and breaks it down. Massicka sites examples of bad character being adopted and why the minds of reggae lovers globally are being negatively reprogrammed - causing dances like the "Drop Dead" to become phenomena amongst the youth.

 When asked about this negative dancehall tradition of violence from the stage and the crowd; DJ Mass said this - "Dancehall don't beat people down, people hold people down"

Massicka is a Real Warrior for The Roots and Culture; and when he puts out the battle cry, all will listen.  The harmonies we enjoy bring us back to a place we remember as "Foundation Sound".  DJ Massicka is a part of the Vibrant "Viral Soundsystem"; based in Boston. being a student - he is often seen spinning in and around Boston.
